Hi debbie, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I grew up immersed in the world of retail, as my family owned a chain of grocery stores in Virginia and Tennessee called Food Country USA. After working in marketing for the chain for 30 years, I gained a deep understanding of the retail landscape. However, my passion for fashion had been simmering since high school–I remember telling my 10th grade Spanish teacher that I wanted to own my own fashion boutique one day.
When I recently stepped away from day to day operations in the family business, I knew it was the perfect opportunity to pursue that long-held dream. That’s how my online boutique, Live Beautifully Boutique was born. It’s a culmination of my lifelong love of fashion and the extensive retail experience I gained over the years.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s been a road of learning! Learning inventory management, what my customers like, and offering quality inventory. I want to offer great quality products so finding those vendors is one of the most critical aspects of having a boutique.

Live Beautifully Boutique is more than just an online store–it’s place where fashion meets self-expression and CONFIDENCE. I want to empower women to not only look beautiful but FEEL beautiful. I believe fashion isn’t just about appearance , its about how you feel in what you wear.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
I believe that life in general is all about connections you make with people, and that philosophy extends to building a network. Ilike to approach networking as a chance to connect and learn.
