Today we’d like to introduce you to Hoodsie
Hi Hoodsie, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started out when I was 13 making beats on SoundCloud. I never really thought it would go anywhere cause at the time I was using a video editing software plus audacity to make beats, but somehow people latched onto it and it gave me the confidence to start including my vocals into it and really showcasing myself.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Definitely not, I’ve had a lot of moments where you’ll meet someone who hypes you up and then dips, or you think you got the perfect song, spend 8 months on it and it gets 30 streams. It’s just sorta the way it goes in music a lot of the time. But everything happens for a reason and I’ve met some great musicians along the way like Cartier Camo, CerVon Campbell and plenty more.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I produce, rap, sing and engineer most my own music, but I love actually creating the beat and getting the vocals to sit right with it. I think the biggest thing I’ve been proud of is the fact I just didn’t give up music. It’s about to be 10 years of me making music, kinda wild. And what sets me apart from others? I suppose the fact that I still latch on to that trip-hop old 2018 era soundcloud sound. Love it. I’m actually dropping a new project called “Hybrid Frequencies” very soon with a good friend Cartier Camo, so stayed tuned.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Just being happy and staying alive doing what you love, or atleast working towards that.
