Daily Inspiration: Meet Samantha Youmans

Today we’d like to introduce you to Samantha Youmans

Hi Samantha, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always had a creative touch to life. However in 2022, I experienced a medical event that changed my life. Just four days before my 27th birthday in 2021 I was medically induced into a coma because of the delta varient of Covid-19. My health changed. I went from being independent to having total care.I wasn’t able to walk. I had so many medical issues. I was so depressed. I had trouble finding the silver lining in many things. Grieving the loss of my health was difficult.

I was able to come home January of 2022 and start my recovery process. Prior to this event I owned a sublimation business where I made shirts, cups, memorial items and more. I realized that my lungs were so scared that I couldn’t stand working with a heart press. I sold everything.

I started doing my nails by painting them. This soothed me. It allowed me to not think about things. I eventually looked into doing press on nails. This allowed me to still be creative! It also made me feel beautifulduring a very dark time of my life. I use making press on nails as a creative outlet for myself but also a way to connect with others. A nice set of press on nails does it all! It complements an outfit, can give you that boost of confidence you need and all around make you feel good about yourself.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
If I’m being honest, it hasn’t been a smooth road. But am I grateful for where I am in my business right now? Absolutely! The journey has had its challenges, but each day brings new lessons and growth. The beauty industry is constantly evolving, and that’s part of what makes it so exciting. I’ve embraced the ups and downs because they’ve shaped me into a stronger entrepreneur. The struggles have taught me resilience and creativity, and I’m proud of how far I’ve come. Every twist and turn has brought me closer to where I want to be, and I wouldn’t trade that experience for anything.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
Five years ago, press-on nails were pretty basic—you had to visit a nail salon if you wanted something truly extravagant. But the industry has come a long way since then! Now, the world of press-on nails is booming with creativity and versatility. We’ve seen a huge shift where press-ons are not only a stylish and affordable option but also temporary and reusable, allowing for endless creativity. Over the next 5-10 years, I see press-on nails becoming even more popular, with more people embracing the convenience and customization they offer. I think we’ll also see more innovation in designs, materials, and application methods, making it easier for everyone to have salon-quality nails at home. The possibilities are endless, and I’m excited to be part of this vibrant and evolving industry!
