Today we’d like to introduce you to Gary Williams
Hi Gary, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’ve been in the screen printing industry for 35 years, and mostly worked for other larger contract screen printing
companies. It wasn’t until I started working in custom screen printing for a smaller company that I realized that working
for myself was a possibility. So upon buying some basic equipment and setting it up in my garage, is where my own
business started. I was just doing it as a side hustle in the evenings after I got off my full time job. After a while of
gaining more and more customers I found myself printing into the wee hours of the morning, getting a few hours sleep,
and going to my other job… I was begining to experience burn out and realized it may be time to think about making it
my full time gig. So in 2011 I found a small commercial space and signed a lease. I still was working both jobs. Then in
2013 I decided to give my boss my notice, and I ventured out on my own.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Trying to keep up with demand as I continued to grow was a struggle. Trying to find the right staff that held my same
values and attention to detail was also difficult.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
The advise I would give to someone starting out would be…Hard work, quality, consistency and determination!
I wish I knew more about general business, accounting and just how difficult operating your own business would be.
