Today we’d like to introduce you to Ambrea Dansby
Hi Ambrea, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My name is Ambre’a Dansby owner of Ideal Looks. I am currently 23 years old, I reside in a small town in SC. I firstly started out selling homemade lipgloss under the name of Gloss By Bri. It was very successful I still have people to make it til this day and that was more than 5 years ago! Alongside of Gloss By Bri, as I got older I knew I wanted to own my own business, I just didn’t know what to do. Later on in my high school years I got into cluster and strip lashes which I was selling for about 2-3 years before I got into actual extensions which is completely different from strips. As a valentines day gift I was rewarded a trip to ATL to attend a lash class something I had dreamed about doing for a long time! I already had customers from my lipgloss business so when the time came I just converted my customers into clients for Ideal Looks! I practiced for almost 6 months before I took it serious! My goal was to quit my fast food job right when I graduated high school. Once that goal was accomplished I knew I couldn’t stop it made me want to do better and go bigger in every aspect of my life! I’m grateful for every opportunity Ideal Looks has brought me! I’ve now experienced esthetician school + much more still knocking goals off my list all while being a full time lash artist and business owner. This is only the beginning for me and my brand I know I can have it all.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Owning a business/being a service provider has not always been smooth! With having dedication and a clear mind, I would not change anything about what has happened with my brand good or bad. God put’s us through things to get to things! Anything pertaining to my brand was meant to happen for a better outcome or reason!
We’ve been impressed with Ideal Looks , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Ideal Looks offers lash extension services along with providing supplies for other lash professionals all across the world. I am most proud of how far I’ve came from a girl in high school with nothing but a plan til now, older , wiser putting everything into action and leaving my mark around the world.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I don’t believe in bad luck. I try to make every situation positive regardless if its good or bad.
