Emily, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
We have been photographing weddings for the past 5 years as a husband and wife team. While we are based in both Summerville, SC and Virginia, we travel anywhere for weddings. After a rebrand in late 2023, we specialize in serving couples who are seeking authentic and timeless imagery. We focus on connection for our couples and their guests to document moments that mean the most to them. Wedding photography for us is all about legacy. This event is likely the only time for our couple’s where all their closest friends and family are in one place at the same time. The photo gallery should reflect more than just all the pretty details of the day. Showcasing legacy through timeless and authentic images is our biggest passion behind our photography.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Navigating the 2020-2021 wedding seasons was one of the hardest things we’ve navigated through business along with the high cost of living due to inflation. Running a business that pays for 100% of your bills and livelihood can be a challenge given these circumstances. However, with a strong relationship with fellow wedding vendors it’s not impossible to succeed and keep pushing forward! We feel so passionately about this that we have started offering a limited number of mentorships throughout the year! If you can relate, let’s connect!

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
Definitely invest in a good mentor or educator. Running a business can be difficult especially if you don’t have a close circle of friends who are in the same boat as you. Finding a good mentor can really make a difference in whether or not you make it past year 2 of your business. Sadly, not every photographer out there has a community mindset. Be selective with your mentor and close friend group if you want to get to the next level with your business!
