Hi Lucky, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Saving memories… Savoring the moment for just a second longer… Fulfilling the hole in your heart, one teardrop at a time. Capturing The Moment was manifested because a little girl wanted to savor the moment for just a second longer. I left my hometown in December of 2023 because I couldn’t keep lying to myself and staying in the comfort zone bubble I kept myself in. I was so afraid to drop everything I knew and move to a new state, AGAIN, but the depression made me want to do better for myself. Ive always loved taking photos of any and everything but I never took it serious because I was more focused on other things that didn’t have any meaning to my life. 2024 I changed that and started focusing on what I love doing and living in my purpose. Taking random photos of people out on the town, taking a newborn first photo, capturing the sunset on a crisp morning, capturing a granddaughter holding her grandmother’s hand for the last time…its just beauty and great memories that can be looked back on. I love to give other people a good feeling when they look at what I captured, and that is what matters to me. Ive alway said that many people can take a photograph, but it takes a true photographer to capture the moment. They say a picture is worth a thousand words and well, the pictures I capture speaks more than just a thousand…my pictures speak to the heart, spiritually connected.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Oh my goodness, no. To me I feel like if the road was smooth you don’t learn anything because the bumps in the road are the tests God sent to you for you to learn. The main struggle for me on this journey was staying consistent and believing in myself. The first test was for me to step out of my comfort zone and move away from my hometown. It is so terrifying to start over, especially in a new area, but I am proof that it can be done ! I am a huge procrastinator and its mainly because I was always afraid to start and fail so I just never started. I would always talk myself out of doing things. Honestly, the challenge was always overcoming and moving myself out of my own way. Once we start believing in ourselves and not needing anyone else’s approval, we win.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
My name is LuckyVirgo and I am a photographer. I named my business Capturing The Moment because I’ve always loved nature’s beauty, whether it was catching photos of random people out and about or just being outside taking photos of nature itself. When I was a kid, all of my family photos were washed away in a terrible flood so to me, having family photos really touches my heart because I wish I was still able to look back on mine. No one really thinks about who is behind the camera lens when we see a vintage photo or the photo of a beautiful sunrise…that me. I think of it as photographers being historians if you ask me. I’m mostly proud of the fact that I finally stayed on track and got my LLC. I’m also am most proud of stepping out of my comfort zone and putting myself out there. When I take photos, I capture the beauty. I allow my lens to find the beauty and i connect to the view on a spiritual level. I can see things and feel things that helps me capture whatever I’m taking a photo of. For example, if a person that’s blind wants to have a session with me, the connection we will have on set will allow this person to feel every shot I capture without being able to see anything…that is what sets me apart from other photographers.
How do you define success?
I would define success as doing what you’ve always wanted to do. Living the life you’d dream about. Finishing those goals you’ve set for yourself. I’d say success is like the rainbow after a long storm…
