Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessyca Shuttleworth
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I co-founded Omada Search five years ago with my business partner, Katie Marriott. Our journey began with a shared vision to create a boutique executive recruiting firm that puts people first. We also envisioned helping women have it all—not to be confused with doing it all. Climbing the corporate ladder, we quickly realized that starting families while maintaining demanding careers often meant women carried dual burdens at work and home. We believed this model was unsustainable and wanted to create a better balance.
After spending over a decade in the industry, we noticed a gap in the market for a genuine, human-centered approach to recruitment. We built Omada Search to be more than just a recruiting agency; we wanted to create a place where relationships matter, authenticity is valued, and meaningful connections are made. Our commitment to high-quality service and deep empathy for our clients and candidates has been the cornerstone of our success.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Our journey hasn’t been without its challenges. We started Omada Search in 2019, and less than a year into our business, the pandemic hit, fundamentally changing the way people work. This unprecedented event forced us to adapt quickly to the new normal of remote work and virtual interactions. The workplace underwent rapid changes, and we had to stay agile, adjusting our strategies to meet the evolving needs of our clients and candidates. In addition to that, building a brand from scratch in a highly competitive industry while navigating these challenges was tough. However, we stayed true to our mission, fostering a supportive team culture and continuously innovating our processes. Despite the obstacles, our commitment to a people-first approach has enabled us to navigate these turbulent times successfully.
As you know, we’re big fans of Omada Search. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
At Omada Search, we specialize in executive recruiting, focusing on management and higher-level positions. What sets us apart is our holistic, people-first approach and our deep commitment to self-growth and raising our awareness and consciousness. Katie and I prioritize our personal development, which directly influences how we lead Omada and engage with clients and candidates. We believe this level of consciousness is rare in the recruiting industry. Our recruitment process combines emotional intelligence, deep listening, and a genuine desire to make meaningful connections. We ensure that when we present candidates, they are not just qualified but a perfect fit for both the role and the company culture. Additionally, we emphasize giving back to the community, donating a portion of our profits to meaningful causes, and fostering a supportive, inclusive workplace.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
For me, success goes beyond business metrics. It’s about creating a positive impact on the lives of our clients, candidates, and community. Success means seeing our candidates thrive in their new roles and our clients excel with the talent we’ve helped them acquire. It’s also about building a company culture where our team feels valued, supported, and inspired. At Omada, we infuse fun into our work by starting Monday morning meetings with dance and meditation—talk about a successful start to the work week! This practice helps us stay grounded, connected, and ready to tackle the week with positivity. Success is about celebrating wins, learning from challenges, and continuously striving to be a force for good in the industry and beyond.
