We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Being a single mom is not easy, especially as a bar professional. But, I wouldn’t trade it for the world!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I have a performing arts background and that has helped to guide my creativity behind the bar. I think and research and ask lots of questions to those willing to help. I try to think literally while being outside the box. I am also always willing to learn and help others. I think, due to how I started in this industry, I have a sense of flow that helps me execute events and high volume situations with a flare that is my own. My creativity is known through events and bar guest, just like my laughter and purple hair.
What matters most to you?
Adulting. As funny as that may sound, it’s true. I think this industry does not do enough to help us truly evolve as adults. Having benefits like sick leave, PTO, insurance and even retirement sources aren’t always available or are always changing. I really want to be successful enough to help my little person in every way possible. Adulting is more than just paying bills on time. You really have be prepared for whatever life may throw at you.
