Today we’d like to introduce you to Demetrice Bright.
Hi Demetrice, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was always a creative person. I play instruments and love to draw and write music. I realized during the pandemic people still splurged on fashion. With me being recently laid off from a non essential personnel job, I had to get creative on new sources of income. I began to take my music serious and turned myself into a brand. I gained some popularity and started running a major music studio which gave me access to a lot of potential clientele as they were already buying into my brand as a recording artist. I created my clothing brand Young Educated Street as began to see the style of fashion everyone had become interested in especially in the urban street culture I was in daily. I have consistently elevated the styles and the quality of the brand into what my brand is today.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It was difficult at first. Just creating designs proved to be a challenge. Then there was creating demand, acquiring materials, and it all takes capital I didn’t have originally.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m an audio engineer, a recording artist, a brand owner, and a father. I specialize in recording and mixing music and audio books and other forms of audio recordings. I most known for my recording ability and my rap persona NLB Honcho. I’m most proud of me overcoming my lack of resources and all the people who told me to follow another dream and the people who wanted me to be an employee all my life when I aspired to be a boss!! My drive and my ability to relate to anyone is what sets me apart from everyone else.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
My determination and creativity and my will to persevere through anything is what’s most attributable to my success.
