Meet Brandy Moore Taylor

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandy Moore Taylor.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
How it all started… I knew at an early age I was destined to start my own business so with the support of family and friends I stepped out on faith. It started off as a challenge that transformed into a masterpiece.

I came up with a different recipe by adding a few more ingredients and removing a few as well to support my healthier lifestyle at the time. Not knowing it was going to taste better than the dish I was challenged to make! This was mind-blowing so I started making my delicious Crab Pies for my family for the past 8 years for the holiday seasons.

It not only blew my mind but my family’s as well. For years my family and friends encourage me to introduce my savory crab pie to the world. I was a little uncertain about moving forward so I reach out to one of my mentors to get his advice and to let him try a sample of the Crab Pie.

He couldn’t believe the magnificent taste of my creation. He was blown away just like my family and friends were. My mentor encouraging words and belief in me sealed the deal for me. So I started participating in vendor events and farmer’s markets to promote my Crab Pies.

And now here we are today… Coastal Cuisine Crab Pie!

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It started off smoothly until the inflation of food costs started to skyrocket as well as crab meat shortages

I had to increase the sales price of the crab pies which slowed down business for a moment. I was unable to offer a smaller size crab pie due to cost and profits.

I wanted to offer an affordable pie to support the needs of smaller families but that was not possible anymore.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
