Life & Work with Kiera Lashae Johnson of South Carolina

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kiera Lashae Johnson.

Hi kiera lashae, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m originally from Orangeburg, South Carolina. I earned my bachelor’s degree in sociology with a minor in elementary education and my Master’s in Business Administration with a concentration in finance. Throughout my journey, I have worn many hats, including teacher, entrepreneur, bartender, actress, radio host, model, content creator, event host, creative director, and production assistant.

My entrepreneurship journey began in 2019. Since then, I have created and managed several businesses, including Mix Addict Mobile Bartending, DIY K2 Studios, Johnson Dream Vacations, Lash Addict by Ki and Accessories, Royal Childcare Services, and K’Lashae Radio. Through my businesses, I have provided services, created memorable experiences, trained hundreds of aspiring bartenders, supported other entrepreneurs, and built platforms that highlight people within my community.

I later expanded into the entertainment industry as an actress and production assistant. My acting credits include Lil Mama from the Gutta, Greed, You Deserve, Say You Love Me Again, In Love with a Boss Chick, and His Favorite Side Chick. I have also worked behind the scenes as a production assistant on As We Lay, Pretty Girls Kill, You Deserve, and It’s Morning. Working in front of and behind the camera has strengthened my confidence, creativity, versatility, and understanding of the film production process.

My story is about refusing to limit myself to one title. I have built experience in education, entrepreneurship, childcare, media, hospitality, and entertainment. Every chapter has prepared me for the next opportunity, and today I’m focused on expanding my businesses, growing my acting career, and creating opportunities that inspire and empower others.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not always been a smooth road. One of my biggest challenges has been learning how to balance school, work, entrepreneurship, acting, and my personal life while still handling bills and the responsibilities of being a young adult. There were times when everything felt overwhelming, but those experiences helped me grow. I learned how to manage my time, organize my responsibilities, prioritize what matters most, and remain disciplined even when I felt tired or discouraged. The journey has required sacrifices, patience, and consistency, but it has made me stronger and more determined. I am still growing and learning, but I now understand how to maintain balance, give each responsibility the attention it deserves, and keep moving forward even when life becomes difficult.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a South Carolina-based actress, production assistant, set coordinator, entrepreneur, and bartender. I am known for being a leader, a go-getter, and an overall boss lady who knows how to turn a vision into reality. Playing strong, confident characters comes naturally because those roles reflect the woman I have worked hard to become.

What I am most proud of is conquering the camera as an introvert. Acting forced me to find my voice, become more outspoken, and step boldly outside my comfort zone. Every time I walk onto a set, I prove to myself that fear does not control me.

What sets me apart is my drive. I balance acting, production, multiple businesses, school, and everyday life while continuing to show up and deliver. I persevere under pressure, remain focused when things become difficult, and refuse to quit. I do not wait for opportunities—I prepare for them, create them, and make the most of them.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I live by the saying, “No risk, no reward.” Some of the biggest risks I have taken were starting my own businesses, investing in my ideas without knowing how they would turn out, and stepping away from the security of a traditional career to become fully self-employed. I also took a major personal risk by pursuing acting. As a natural introvert, putting myself in front of a camera and allowing people to see me in a completely different way required courage.

I have explored different career paths because I refuse to box myself into one title. I believe the worst that can happen is that I fail, learn from the experience, and start again with more knowledge than I had before. Every risk will not produce the outcome I expected, but every risk has helped me discover what I am capable of.

To me, risk-taking does not mean making careless decisions. It means believing in yourself enough to move forward even when success is not guaranteed. I would rather take the chance, learn, and grow than spend my life wondering what could have happened.
