Inspiring Conversations with SequoiaCAT – Stephanie And Daniel Herman of SequoiaCAT

Today we’d like to introduce you to SequoiaCAT – Stephanie And Daniel Herman.

Hi SequoiaCAT, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Daniel had always worked in construction, but his journey into trailer building started when he got into tiny house construction in Washington. That eventually led to a small side project with a friend—building a tiny camper in a teardrop shape. What started as a fun idea quickly turned into something bigger when his TikTok account (@everyday.dan) gained attention, bringing in requests for custom builds. That’s when he created the first Beerdrop, a mobile bar trailer with taps, which can now regularly be seen at the Travelers Rest Farmers Market. One build led to another, and before he knew it, he was running a full-time business.

He went on to build four more trailers, delivering them to different states. The last one he sold before SequoiaCAT took an unexpected turn in 2021 was to Group Therapy Pub and Playground in Greenville.

That same year, while living in South Carolina, Daniel met Stephanie, who was living in Italy at the time. He put the business on hold, flew across the world, and they got married. After two years in Italy, they moved back to South Carolina in 2024, ready to take SequoiaCAT to the next level—this time, together.

Today, they are passionate about building premium mobile business trailers that give entrepreneurs the freedom to take their business anywhere. With a focus on craftsmanship, innovation, and functionality, they help others turn their dreams into reality—giving your dream wheels.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. In the beginning, just keeping up with bills was tough, so Daniel couldn’t run SequoiaCAT full-time. He had to keep working construction while building trailers on the side to make it work.

The biggest challenge came in 2021 when he put everything on hold and moved to Italy. Leaving behind everything he had built for a girl across the world was a huge risk—he had no idea what the future would hold.

Coming back to South Carolina wasn’t any easier. After two years away, he had lost everything—his tools, shop, home, car, and even the social media momentum that had helped the business grow. We crashed at a friend’s place for a few months while figuring out how to start over, setting up a home and a new workshop from scratch.

Since the business had been on pause for so long, orders weren’t exactly rolling in. We had to invest all we had into tools and building a new trailer, just hoping it would pay off. In the meantime, Daniel (now with my help) was back to construction and home renovations to keep things going.

And just when things started picking up again… surprise! We found out we had a baby on the way. Life’s been a wild ride, but we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about SequoiaCAT?
SequoiaCAT (Campers and Trailers) is all about helping people bring their dreams to life on wheels. We build high-quality mobile business trailers, specializing in teardrop-style mobile bars that make it easy for entrepreneurs to take their business anywhere. The company started focused on tiny campers but today our goal is a business that creates stylish, functional trailers for people looking to step away from a traditional setup and do something different. To support mobility and flexible ways to make income anywhere.

What makes us different? We focus on craftsmanship, perfection in the details, design, and high quality trailer. We’re not just building trailers—we’re helping people start something of their own, pursue their dreams, and that’s what makes it exciting.

One of the things we’re most proud of is seeing our trailers out in the real world, being used by business owners to serve their communities and build something for themselves.

If there’s one thing we want people to know, it’s that SequoiaCAT is here to help people succeed. Right now, we specialize in teardrop-style trailers, which are a more affordable and lower-risk investment compared to larger setups. They’re built with high quality materials, easy to tow, and allow you to make money anywhere. Whether you’re serving drinks, selling products, or starting something new, our trailers provide a practical and mobile way to run a business. We offer ready-to-go unique crafted models, but there’s also room for small customizations to make sure the trailer fits your specific needs.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
We currently live and run our business in Campobello, South Carolina.

What I love most about this area is the mix of small town but close enough to larger cities like Greenville. Campobello is quiet, surrounded by beautiful landscapes, and a great place to work on something meaningful.

What I like least is that we’re not as close to some supplier shops, which can make sourcing materials a bit more challenging. But in a way, it’s also a benefit—it pushes us to improve our planning, think ahead, be more intentional with our builds, minimize waste and extra store runs.
