Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristi Filkins.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I have a background in Human Services, including 40 years of professional work experience in various positions of “helping”, like Personnel, Payroll, Benefits Administration as well as professional therapeutic foster care for nearly 8 years in Northern New York. State. I have had personal connections and interactions with many types of personalities in all of my former “W2” positions. When you work in Human Resources you definitely learn as you go. No college course can ever prepare you for the various scenarios you find yourself in! There are basics however: every person wants connection, love, attention and worthwhile activities. Every person struggles with health issues, relationship issues, and the great questions: “Why am I here? ” What is my purpose?”
In my late forties, I had an epic wake up. Although I was always aware of being a bit different from my friends, I played along to fit in and didn’t rock the boat until I was about 20 and started becoming very interested in the occult, psychic phenomena, and the metaphysical side of things. My mother and my friends and I attended psychic fairs and had readings for fun! They were always stunningly accurate! I wanted to know more! I researched, and the more I read and observed, the more interested I became. I ‘followed’ dozens of ‘enlightened’ people from all over the world. I read Edgar Cayce, Wayne Dyer and Joe Dispenza. I took psychic development classes and joined clubs with others like me, instead of trying to fit with others not like me! In one of the gatherings I attended to try Reiki, I met a woman who was taking coursework in a particular form of hypnotherapy called QHHT (Quantum Healing Hypnosis Technique) developed by Dolores Cannon. She suggested I try it too. I looked it up and started classes. I began doing sessions for clients in 2017. I continued with classes of many other alternative healing modalities like Reiki, Dowsing, Remote viewing, tarot, and oracle card reading. I soon developed a business and now I am an alternative healing practitioner. I have found that every person has spiritual gifts of some kind, and the ability to lead others on their own healing journey. It’s quite true that when you heal yourself, you help others. The world is awakening to these sacred truths that have been hidden from us and soon it will be a world of natural cures, not pharmaceutical. There will always be a need for some types of physicians, surgeons, dentists and bone setters. Coming soon, however, will be a time when the majority of healers will be naturopathic, intuitive, holistic and herbal and they will be using light and energy movement and music to treat you!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Not much of my road has been smooth! It has, however, been divinely guided and supported by my ancestors and my spirit guides. I have had wonderful mentors and teachers that have all shown up in my reality at the perfect time. Hence the term, “when the student is ready, the teacher appears”….and vice versa. Teachers take many forms, often as annoying coworkers, pesky customers standing ahead of you in line, barking dogs, and my personal favorite: family members! A good friend of mine, from a pretty dysfunctional family once said: “Our families are often our best teachers, GOOD and BAD”! How right she is. They appear to us first, and we begin. Often we simply change roles with each other from life to life. Every existence is well planned in advance, and we pick our lessons and how to learn them with our experiences. Every single thing that happens to us is “for a reason” It takes so long in our lives to realize this. Once we do, life becomes easier. For instance, when someone pulls out in front of you when you are already late, in a hurry, you have to ask yourself: “why did this happen? What am I supposed to learn from this?”, instead of cursing, slow down, take a breath and understand that there is ALWAYS a reason. mIght be something like, you need to be another minute late so you can get the parking space today…or NOT get a parking space today…The rest of the day will tell the story!
Most struggles we have, we choose! Everything happens for a purpose, usually a lesson is wrapped inside it. Moving to South Carolina has been an eye opener. I am needed here and doing my duty to be the light for the awakening population in the “Bible belt”, where some think it “woo woo” to believe in anything other than the “fear of the lord”. My beliefs are slightly different and I have had many a debate regarding it. I can only stand in my truth and be the example. I saw this on the side of a tractor trailer, moving at 60 mph on route 385 near Greenville: “The life you live is the lesson you teach”. That is my truth! If your heart is pure and you live your truth, that is the best you can do!

ATP is a consulting business. I help others help themselves with internal stressors an outward behaviors and grief, trauma and questions about their lives, past lives, and futures. I can be a catalyst for God-given talents and gifts in each individual I work with, I use my former work experience, intuition and tools like oracle cards, quartz singing bowls, drums, and pendulums to find stuck energy in your body and release your blocks. You do the work. Your body knows what to do after being in communication with your inner being (soul, consciousness). You have an on=board navigation system you were born with. It’s pretty much foolproof. Just think of your “gut feeling” and pay attention to what it tells you! I help you tap into the inner knowing that is always present. I help my clients meet their spirit guides and even talk to their ancestors, who are ever present and ready to help.
My specialty is the QHHT session, which is about 3 hours devoted to talking with you, getting you in touch with your higher self. I love showing you how to stay in touch and watch for your own signs and symbols that are sent to you from guides and the universe. Even the sun sends you messages and information!
My services are by appointment and can be done in my studio or in your home. Some services can be remote, over the phone, and Zoom./Google Meet. QHHT sessions are done in person only. I offer free 20-minute consultations prior to sessions to answer any questions you have and even give you some homework to bring for your appointment. What does success mean to you?
Success is liquid, ever changing. It’s not solid. Its moveable from day to day. I define my personal success on a daily basis by asking myself, every night before sleep: “Was today worth a day of my life? Were my actions in line with my goals? Did I hurt or help anyone today/” and lastly: How can i make tomorrow better?
