Exploring Life & Business with Nicole Edwards of Edwards Learning Co

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Edwards.

Hi Nicole, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey began in the classroom, where I spent nearly a decade as an educator dedicated to helping students realize their full potential. During those years, I discovered a growing passion for individualized instruction and the difference it can make in a child’s academic confidence and long-term growth. That passion led me to establish Edwards Tutoring, a service built on the belief that learning should be both personal and purposeful.

What started as one-on-one sessions after school quickly evolved into a comprehensive educational support program serving students across Florida and South Carolina. Over time, I expanded my work beyond tutoring to include curriculum design, family engagement, and student progress systems that emphasize measurable growth and meaningful results.

In 2025, I launched Edwards Learning Co., an extension of my mission to empower learners, families, and fellow educators. Through this platform, I’ve been able to combine my classroom experience with entrepreneurship—creating educational resources, hosting enrichment programs, and sharing professional insights that make learning both accessible and impactful.

Today, my work continues to center around one guiding principle: delivering “Education with YOU in mind.” It reflects not only the individualized attention each student receives but also the broader commitment to community, innovation, and educational excellence that drives my work each day.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The journey has been rewarding, but it hasn’t always been easy. Like many entrepreneurs, I faced challenges balancing my passion for teaching with the realities of running a business. In the early years, I had to learn how to manage operations, scheduling, and marketing while still maintaining the personal relationships that are at the core of my tutoring work.

There were also moments of uncertainty—especially during seasons of growth or change—but each obstacle became an opportunity to refine my purpose and strengthen the foundation of Edwards Tutoring and Edwards Learning Co. Through those experiences, I learned the importance of adaptability, clear communication with families, and trusting the process of gradual progress.

Every challenge has ultimately shaped the way I lead today—with empathy, structure, and a commitment to making education accessible and meaningful for all.

As you know, we’re big fans of Edwards Learning Co. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Edwards Learning Co. is a personalized education and tutoring company built on the belief that learning should be individualized, engaging, and empowering. We provide academic support in reading, writing, math, and STEM for students in kindergarten through high school—both online and in person across South Carolina and Florida.

What truly sets us apart is our personalized approach. Every student receives an individualized learning plan based on diagnostics, progress tracking, and ongoing collaboration with families. Our programs integrate both traditional instruction and digital learning tools—such as Education.com, Epic, Prodigy, and ReadWorks—to create a well-rounded experience that connects classroom learning to home practice.

Beyond academics, Edwards Learning Co. is known for building confidence and fostering a lifelong love for learning. Parents appreciate our detailed communication, weekly progress updates, and focus on measurable growth over time.

Brand-wise, I’m most proud of how we’ve evolved from a tutoring service into a comprehensive educational brand that supports not only students but also families and other educators. Under our guiding motto, “Education with YOU in mind,” we strive to make learning accessible, enjoyable, and tailored to each child’s unique needs.

Ultimately, I want readers to know that Edwards Learning Co. is more than tutoring—it’s a community-centered approach to education designed to help every learner thrive, both academically and personally.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I believe that risk-taking is an essential part of growth—especially when your work is driven by purpose. For me, stepping into entrepreneurship after years in the classroom was one of the biggest risks I’ve taken. Leaving a structured career in education to build my own company required faith, adaptability, and a willingness to learn through trial and error.

Every major milestone—launching Edwards Tutoring, expanding to serve families across states, and rebranding as Edwards Learning Co.—involved taking thoughtful risks. I had to trust my vision even when the next steps weren’t fully clear. But each leap brought new opportunities to innovate, reach more students, and create a stronger impact in my community.

I view risk not as something to fear, but as a necessary part of progress. The key is to take purposeful risks—those grounded in preparation, integrity, and belief in your mission. That mindset has allowed me to continue growing as both an educator and entrepreneur, even when the path ahead wasn’t certain.
