Sawyer Services LLC began in 2022 as a dedicated HVAC company. As we grew, we recognized a significant need in our community for reliable and trustworthy handyman services. In response, we expanded in 2024 to become a full-service commercial and residential maintenance and repair company. Today, we proudly provide dependable, high-quality HVAC, handyman, and property maintenance services throughout Upstate South Carolina.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Like many small businesses, our journey hasn’t always been smooth — but every challenge has shaped who we are today. When Sawyer Services LLC started in 2022 as an HVAC company, we quickly learned that building trust takes time, consistency, and a genuine commitment to customer care. As we expanded into handyman, maintenance, and repair services in 2024, we faced the growing pains that come with scaling: managing a wider range of service calls, developing efficient processes, and ensuring every technician provides the same level of quality our customers expect.
One of the biggest lessons we’ve learned is the importance of adaptability. The industry changes fast — whether it’s seasonal demand, supply chain delays, or the increasing expectations customers have around communication and transparency. These challenges pushed us to strengthen our scheduling systems, improve our documentation standards, and refine how we communicate with clients before, during, and after each job.
Another lesson is that reliable, trustworthy service truly matters. We saw early on that many customers were frustrated with no-shows, poor communication, or lackluster workmanship. Filling that gap required hiring the right people, setting high standards, and holding ourselves accountable through photos, reports, and accurate job notes.
While the process hasn’t always been easy, it has been incredibly rewarding. Every obstacle helped us grow into a more organized, customer-focused, and dependable company. Looking back, the path wasn’t smooth — but every challenge prepared us to serve our community better and build a company we’re proud of.

We’re also working toward growing our team of skilled technicians, ensuring we can serve a larger area while maintaining quick response times and high-quality work. As the demand for dependable handyman and HVAC services increases, we’re preparing to meet it with the right people, training, and customer care standards.
Another major priority is investing in technology and communication tools to streamline scheduling, reporting, and customer updates. Our goal is to keep improving transparency and convenience for both homeowners and property managers.
