Conversations with Lucus Faulk

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lucus Faulk.

Hi Lucus , we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
It all started as a young boy attending my great uncle Levie Gaskins fishing tournaments with my father (Lucus Faulk Sr.). These fishing tournaments were for “Mudfish” AKA Bowfin. I looked up to all of the crowd around there tremendously and was in awe of the old school feeling. Fast forward to 2019, I started a Facebook page by the name of “Muddy Masters” to bring this retro type of look and feeling regarding the outdoors in hopes of attracting a large audience. I began by posting videos and photos of various fishing trips, I then proceeded hosting fishing tournaments for Bowfin (Mudfish) at Dawhoo Lake to keep my uncle’s tradition alive as he tragically passed. As time went by, I began to include hunting content and various historical information regarding the outdoors on my page as well. I would spend every day after work, which I continue to do so, in the Francis Marion National Forest and abroad, engaging in a myriad of outdoor activities for content use. What started out as 10 followers, then 100, then 1,000, then 10,000…. has now reached over 56,000 followers. I’ve put countless time and consistency into doing what I love, and it has paid off tenfold. If I could go back – I would do it all over again without hesitation. My dream has always been to be self-sufficient in doing something I truly love and enjoy.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Unfortunately, it has not been a smooth road. The time I’ve dedicated to this has come at a cost in a few different aspects, but it has been worth it in the end.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I specialize in providing outdoor content for millions of people online. Whether it be fishing, hunting, outdoor history, firearms, etc. I give everything a retro look and feel when it comes to the outdoors – you won’t find another person or page like mine as I’ve spent countless hours branding and perfecting it.

How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
Any collaborations are welcome as teamwork makes the dream work. The best possible way to support me and my brand would be to engage with my social media content on Facebook, YouTube, Tik-Tok, and Instagram. I cannot do it without y’all as everyone’s support, no matter how small it may seem, makes a world of difference. Especially to me.
