Conversations with Hannah Norman

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hannah Norman.

Hi Hannah, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I graduated from the University of South Carolina in 2020 and became a licensed Realtor shortly after. Real estate wasn’t originally part of my plan—in fact, it wasn’t even on my radar until I interned at a real estate law firm during my final two years of college. Blair Cato Pickren Casterline was the law firm and their Partner Attorney, Gary Pickren, introduced me to the world of real estate and sparked my interest in the industry. I began my career as an assistant to a top local agent, eventually growing into a co–team lead role where I helped lead one of the area’s top-producing teams for over four years. In November 2024, I made the decision to branch out on my own, joining a new brokerage as a solo agent. Since earning my license, I’ve sold more than 500 homes across the Midlands at a wide range of price points and am currently ranked among the top 20 agents in our market of over 3,000 licensees.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
One of the biggest challenges I faced starting my real estate career at 21 was stepping into an industry largely dominated by older, more seasoned professionals. Many questioned why I pursued a college degree only to enter a field that doesn’t require one. Being young and new meant I had to work twice as hard to earn respect and establish credibility. Though some initially underestimated me, I quickly proved my dedication, work ethic, and determination to build a successful brand and career.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
With over 3,000 agents in our market, I believe what truly sets me apart is my innovative marketing approach and the reach I’m able to achieve for my clients. I’ve built a social media following of more than 20,000—most of whom are local Columbia residents—which allows me to showcase my listings to a highly engaged, targeted audience and maximize exposure for my sellers. For my buyers, I go beyond the traditional home-buying process to create a memorable, personalized experience. On closing day, I celebrate with each client by offering a “Welcome Home” photoshoot with a professional photographer—capturing the joy of popping champagne in front of their new home and preserving that milestone forever. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of selling some of the most impressive lakefront properties on Lake Murray and am proud to hold multiple top sales records. More than anything, I’m grateful to have built a career I truly love in the city I’ve always called home.
