Hi Garrett, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I entered the moving industry a few years ago, and I got to experience the highs and lows of moving–both the horror stories and the thankful, teary-eyed customers. After over 1,000 moves, I decided it was time to start a moving company that would consistently care.
Consistency is what allows us to avoid the lows, the horror stories. And genuinely caring for people in a transitional stage of their life is what allows us to constantly experience those highs, the thankful, teary-eyed customers.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
We didn’t anticipate such a strong start as a company. What was intended to be a soft launch, quickly turned into a fully booked schedule. And because we are committed to quality over quantity, it has resulted in some tough decisions to limit our growth in order to focus on making sure we keep our services top-notch, without stretching ourselves too thin and having details start to fall through the cracks.
We’ve also been facing some obstacles due to malpractice from other companies, but the bright side is that those limitations are happening at a time when we are focused most on maintaining consistent care for our clients rather than expanding quickly.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We’re a full-service, local and long-distance moving company. We’re passionate about providing people’s best move yet. And because moving is one of the most stressful things people can encounter, we’re aiming to improve the whole moving experience, not just getting stuff from point A to point B. Simplifying moving is one of the key ways we’re trying to take the stress out of moving.
The majority of the time, people simply hire movers to move their stuff. Because of that, people still end up dealing with the brunt of the move, which is packing and unpacking. So we’re making packing and unpacking more realistic and straightforward. We include all of our packing materials for free, including our green, reusable totes.
This means you don’t have to deal with picking up or getting rid of cardboard boxes; we provide the totes at the start and pick them up at the end. It’s the eco-friendly and cost-effective way forward for moving. Instead of paying for all of the materials yourself, you can redirect those funds towards hiring someone to pack for you. (If you hire another company, they will charge you both for labor and materials. But not us!)
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
I’ve been learning relationships are most important. Good service is simply a subcategory of a caring relationship. Everything good that can come from a company is simply an outflow of genuine, caring relationships with the workers, customers, and community.
