Today we’d like to introduce you to Danielle Jones.

Danielle Jones

Hi Danielle, We are so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
In the fall of 2019, I stood at a crossroads, teetering on the edge of a big decision. For the better part of my career, I dedicated myself to nonprofit leadership and fundraising. I had steadily climbed the corporate ladder, secure in my chosen path. However, during those crisp autumn days, I sensed a nudge from God guiding me toward a new and uncharted course. With unwavering faith as my compass, I boldly leaped, resigning from my job to embrace creative ventures and writing. Little did I know that this leap of faith would align with the unexpected arrival of a global pandemic, thrusting my family into unforeseen adventures!

As the pandemic swept the world, we were confronted with a unique opportunity orchestrated with his timing. The flexibility and freedom that entrepreneurship afforded us became the conduit through which God’s plan unfolded. It allowed our family to embark on a homeschooling journey, even before the world knew such a shift would become necessary. This new chapter not only brought us closer together as a family, but it complimented my entrepreneurial spirit and creativity.

During this time of transition, I had a crucial realization. My identity had long been tied to academic and career achievements, but I saw that our real identity isn’t just about worldly accomplishments. Instead, it’s rooted in our faith and unwavering commitment to our calling—a solid foundation that goes against the world’s conventional definition of success. Opportunities have a way of finding me; my instinct is to welcome them with open arms. During my participation in an entrepreneurship small group, an intriguing proposal emerged. The group leader suggested that I write an article about being a Parentpreneur. My response? An enthusiastic “yes!” This yes would serve as the opening act of an incredible opportunity. Shortly after the article’s publication, an executive producer stumbled upon my bio. What followed was nothing short of extraordinary — a vision to establish a nonprofit empowering Christian filmmakers to illuminate the darkest corners of our world through their stories.

It’s important to note that my prior experience had never ventured into the entertainment industry. Yet, this vision resonated deeply with my journey, harmonizing faith, creativity, and entrepreneurship into a singular purpose. Faced with a choice—shying away from the unknown or embracing the risk—I wholeheartedly chose the latter.

Embracing this new role as Executive Director, I felt entrusted with a mission that believed in the transformative power of media, especially among the youth. This unwavering commitment drives me personally towards positive change in the media landscape. My journey as a faith leader and entrepreneur-led me to the intersection of storytelling and empowerment. Our journey unfolded as my family embarked on a multi-state adventure earlier this year. As part of our tour, we explored the captivating landscapes of the south and the ocean. Little did we know that this trip was a prelude to a profound revelation.

On our way back home to Michigan, we passed by the Charleston, South Carolina exit, briefly discussing the idea of visiting that charming city someday since we had yet to make it there on our trip. A deep sense within us had already taken root, telling us that returning to our former life was no longer an option. A few days later, a remarkable opportunity emerged when my husband’s company announced that his team could work remotely from anywhere. Then, he shared the message he had received from God during our drive—a message affirming that our destiny was intertwined with the Lowcountry.

This past summer, our lives were marked by a whirlwind of activity. We packed up our lives in Michigan and embarked on a courageous journey to the captivating South. This transition represented a change in our physical location and a profound transformation in our faith in God’s plan. Sometimes, the Lord uproots you to plant something better!

Before our momentous move, my work at the nonprofit concluded. I am involved in a few impactful projects and am in the early stages of launching my next business adventure. The lush landscapes, rich culture, and warm hospitality of South Carolina have played an integral role in shaping my story of transformation and resilience – a testament to the power of embracing the unknown right here in the Palmetto State! I’m deeply humbled to share my experiences through writing and speaking. I want to inspire others to welcome the unexpected, nurture their creativity, and say yes to the limitless opportunities that await them. Let’s turn the page together and continue crafting our own stories of fulfillment and purpose — one faith-filled leap at a time!

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
In my journey, I’ve faced my fair share of challenges. Among the successes, there’s a distinct thread of adversity—a chronic illness that entered my life, altering its course. This unexpected obstacle has become a crucible for personal growth and resilience. I don’t let it define me; I view it as an opportunity to refine my character. It’s taught me the art of pacing myself. In a world that often celebrates constant productivity, my health condition has served as a persistent reminder that sometimes, slowing down is a sign of strength. Sometimes, God places trials in our path not as obstacles but as stepping stones toward becoming more compassionate, empathetic, and purpose-driven individuals. This perspective has inspired me to leverage my experiences and wisdom to help others facing similar difficulties.

I find inspiration in this verse: He comforts us in all our affliction so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction through the comfort we receive from God. This scripture reminds me that the comfort and strength I’ve found in my trials can become a wellspring of support for others navigating their challenges.

As an entrepreneur and creative individual, I view every challenge as an opportunity to grow and inspire. Our struggles, when met with courage and compassion, can be transformed into beacons of hope, guiding our paths and illuminating the way for others in search of inspiration.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a servant-hearted leader deeply committed to empowering others. Guided by my faith, I’ve fearlessly embraced my purpose, trusting in the path. As the former Executive Director of Ascension Media Partners, I harnessed my expertise to serve Christian storytellers, recognizing the transformative power of media as an instrument of inspiration and positive change. I understand that meaningful narratives of faith can inspire individuals, families, and whole communities.

In addition to my professional pursuits, serving as a homeschool mom is my heart’s true delight. Together, we discover not just letters and numbers, but big life lessons tucked away in the simple moments. I get to see the world anew through their questions and curiosity, and honestly, we’re all students in this cozy classroom we call home. The Lowcountry is our playground, with its endless beauty turning our learning into a daily adventure. Here, amidst the whispering ocean and under the wide-open skies, I guide not only their education but also their spiritual growth, weaving the values of purpose and faith into our everyday explorations. It’s a journey we’re on together, one filled with laughter, love, and the kind of learning that books alone can’t teach.

Further underscoring my service-minded ethos, I humbly lead a women’s ministry. This gathering unites Christian women for prayer, encouragement, Bible study, fostering deeper connections with God, and personal growth. Since 2019, our weekly gatherings have been a blessing, an opportunity for which I am immensely grateful. Beyond my professional and service responsibilities, I find joy in painting, crafting art, and journeying to new places. My family — my handsome husband, our inquisitive children, and our two spirited mini Goldendoodles — thrives on exploring the captivating beauty scattered throughout America. We’ve set ourselves an ambitious goal: to visit all 50 states within the next decade. Every expedition is much more than just a trip; it’s a golden opportunity to add a vibrant new chapter to our family’s ongoing story of adventure and treasured memories!

Recently, I have felt called to share my journey more openly. I’ve begun to venture into professional speaking, aiming to inspire and encourage others through my faith, resilience, and purpose narrative. I invite others to join me on this empowering journey of growth and self-discovery. I encourage everyone to discover their unique calling, positively impact the world, and lead lives of significance guided by faith and purpose. Through my work and personal life, I remain committed to transforming lives, one person at a time, truly making a world of difference.

Risk-taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
One of my favorite quotes is by John Maxwell, and it goes like this: “Jump and build your wings on the way down.” It perfectly encapsulates my view on risk-taking. I wholeheartedly embrace the idea of taking risks. I often find myself saying “yes” to opportunities, even when I have no prior experience or knowledge of what I’m getting into. It’s an exhilarating journey, and I find it incredibly rewarding.

I consider myself a “faith jumper,” someone willing to take risks because when I say “yes,” God is already waiting for me on the other side, ready to equip me with the skills and abilities I need to fulfill my calling. Beyond my career ventures and relocations to new places, I’ve eagerly embraced various personal challenges. These include venturing into roles such as being a keynote speaker, homeschooling our children, coaching a children’s soccer team, leading a women’s Bible study, running a half marathon, and even launching and running a thrift store to help support humane society animals. One remarkable experience was joining a group of strangers on a ten-day tour to China, which brought unique cultural experiences, valuable connections, and even the chance to climb the Great Wall in Beijing, China.

But here’s the secret I’ve discovered: It’s not just about taking risks; it’s about learning from success and failure. The more risks you take, the more likely you are to encounter failure – and that’s perfectly okay because every failure is a lesson in disguise.

Each setback and obstacle has been a stepping stone toward personal growth and resilience. Through these experiences, I’ve truly spread my wings and soared to new heights. Failure isn’t something to fear; it’s something to embrace, for it carries invaluable lessons that guide us on our journey.
