For Drs. Francesco and Joseph Laterza, LaterzaMD Aesthetic Center began as a shared vision rooted in medicine, artistry, and care. Joseph, a Family Medicine physician, was drawn to aesthetics through his understanding of how confidence and wellness are deeply connected. Francesco, an Internal Medicine hospitalist and medical educator, brought a love of precision, balance, and patient relationships to the idea.
What started as a conversation about blending science with beauty soon evolved into a clear purpose: to create a space where people could feel both cared for and confident in their own skin. In March 2024, that vision came to life with the opening of LaterzaMD Aesthetic Center, a physician-led practice grounded in safety, advanced technology, and natural results.
Since then, LaterzaMD Aesthetic Center has become known throughout the Upstate for its thoughtful, individualized approach and the expertise behind every treatment. For Francesco and Joseph, it represents more than a business, it’s a reflection of their shared values, their partnership, and their belief that confidence is one of the most beautiful forms of wellness.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has definitely been a journey with both smooth stretches and challenges along the way. Balancing two medical careers, a growing business, and family life required a level of patience and perseverance that neither of them had fully anticipated. Entering the aesthetics world meant stepping into a space that demanded not only clinical expertise but also an understanding of design, marketing, and business operations.
There were moments of uncertainty, long days, and countless lessons learned in real time. Finding the right team, building community trust, and creating a brand that reflected who they are as physicians and people took time and commitment.
Through every challenge, Francesco and Joseph stayed focused on their shared purpose: to create a practice that feels both personal and professional, where every patient feels cared for and every detail reflects integrity. The path has not always been easy, but it has been deeply rewarding.
