Today we’d like to introduce you to Guadalupe.
Guadalupe, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
As a son of immigrant parents my dream has always been to own my own business and be able to provide for them as they have for me. Growing up my dad would take me to work at a concrete company, to do plumbing work or to pick vegetables at a farm. After graduating high school I worked in landscaping for a while before following in my fathers footsteps at a concrete company where then I joined the National Guard. On my return from basic training I felt that I would be more fulfilled with my own company so in 2020 I started my journey as a business owner. It has been a roller coaster of learning and failing and learning to get on my feet again. I don’t believe in luck only that talent intersects opportunity, February 2025 I signed up for a class on concrete coatings and overlays that I had been eyeing for quite some time. From this an opportunity resented itself. From this class I was able to continue working with the instructor as an installer and shortly there after I was presented with the chance to purchase the existing business. With God guiding me and the support of my family I plan to continue to grow this business and complete my goals.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
no it has not. for me some of the struggles include not having a proper mentor to help guide me when i needed it. i was also stuck in a mindset of being a worker, when i needed to be a leader. because of that i was stuck on the jobsite, so i wasn’t able to always find work.
We’ve been impressed with Diamond Concrete Solutions, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We Are Diamond Concrete Solutions. located in Lexington, SC, and do work all over the state. we specialize in concrete and decorative concrete services. Our specialties include concrete pours, epoxy flooring, flake flooring, concrete seals and concrete polishing. We are passionate about about what we do, any kind of work that needs to be done we put our all into it. Our work speaks for itself and our level of commitment to delivery high quality work. Your projects get treated as if it were our own home or business.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Above all I feel that my perseverance has gotten me through this ongoing rollercoaster ride.
