Exploring Life & Business with Nicole Parmelee of Travel is the Answer

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Parmelee.

Hi Nicole, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’ve always had a deep love for travel – not just for the destinations, but for the experiences that come with them. I became a travel advisor because I have such a passion for helping others create those same kinds of memories. Honestly, it brings me so much joy to live vicariously through my clients. I love seeing their photos, hearing their stories, and knowing I played a small part in something that will stay with them forever. I love helping them create memories through experiences.

What started as planning trips for family and friends eventually grew into my travel agency, Travel is the Answer. I actually became a travel advisor in January of 2020, right before the world shut down. While it might have seemed like the worst possible timing, I used that year to learn everything I could about the industry. I focused on helping people have something to look forward to – a trip in the future when things finally got back to normal. Over time, I realized how much I loved pairing people with experiences that match who they are, whether that’s a relaxing all-inclusive, a European adventure, or a cruise that brings the whole family together.

For me, travel is about connection: to the world, to others, and to yourself. And helping people find that is what truly makes this work so rewarding.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. but honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way. Like I mentioned, I started in January 2020, completely ready to take on the world… and then it closed down.
But instead of letting that stop me, I took every opportunity I could to learn, every virtual supplier training, every webinar, every agent trip that happened as the industry slowly started to restart. When travel finally opened again, there were new rules for every country, constant changes, and all the COVID testing requirements – I still shudder thinking about it sometimes, ha!

But looking back, I’m proud of that time. It taught me resilience, adaptability, and how to support my clients no matter what’s happening in the world. If I could guide people through that, I can help them through anything travel-related.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
My travel agency, Travel is the Answer, is all about creating experiences that fit each traveler’s personality. I always say travel isn’t one-size-fits-all – it’s deeply personal. Some people want curated luxury, others want hidden local gems, and my job is to match them with the destination and trip option that feels just right.

I specialize in all-inclusive resorts, cruises, and custom itineraries across Mexico, the Caribbean, and Europe. One of my biggest passions (and specialties) is group travel. I love helping families and friends come together through travel, whether it’s a destination wedding, family reunion, milestone birthday, or even a corporate retreat. There’s something so special about seeing a group share those experiences and memories that last a lifetime. What really sets me apart is the personal touch – I take the time to truly get to know my clients, so every trip feels thoughtful, seamless, and completely tailored to them. I want them to feel like they have someone in their corner every step of the way, from the first idea to the moment they’re home sharing their favorite memories.

Brand-wise, I’m most proud of the relationships and trust I’ve built. My clients know that when they come to me, it’s not just about booking a vacation – it’s about creating something meaningful.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
What matters most to me is connection. Both the connections people make through travel and the relationships I build with my clients. Travel has this incredible ability to bring people closer together, whether it’s a family celebrating something special, a couple reconnecting, or friends making memories that they’ll talk about for years.

On a personal level, I truly care about every trip I plan. It’s not just about logistics, it’s about the emotion behind it. I know what it feels like to need something to look forward to, to need a reset, or to crave that feeling of escape and joy that travel brings. Helping others find that means everything to me.

At the end of the day, I want my clients to feel seen, cared for, and confident that I’m invested in their experience as much as they are. That connection and trust is what keeps me passionate about what I do every single day.
