Today we’d like to introduce you to Iesha Schreiner.
Hi Iesha, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Hi! My name is Iesha Schreiner. I am married to an amazing husband and have 2 beautiful children. I started my career as a Social Media Influencer and Content Creator in 2022. I initially did not plan to do this for a living, nor was I strongly familiar with the terms Content Creator and Influencer. I knew I loved being on camera, sharing my values for family and faith, inspiring ladies with different makeup looks, and showing new fashion pieces. In March 2022, I started posting Facebook reels about fashion and funny family moments. It was just all fun, and kinda like a game for me, because I had just got accepted in the Facebook Reels Program where I could make very decent income monthly by posting reels. I wanted to see if I could hit the max payout. But, I was undeniably having fun connecting with my audience through laughter and inspiration. I started posting all the funny relatable content that I thought would resonate with people and also doing trends. We had several videos hit close to a million and one that did 5.4 million (our most viewed video on Facebook). My Facebook following went from 200 to 10,000 in less than 1 month, and, SURPISINGLY, I landed 3 brand contracts and a long term partnership. It was insane to me! We made great income that month, that I wondered how I could do this again full time. In each of the contracts I signed that first month, they all said “Influencer Contract.” I thought to myself, ‘is that what I am. Is this what they call me.’ After that, I was fine with owning the titles Influencer and Content Creator. Fast forward, at a friends recommendation I got on TikTok. It was a perfect fit for my creativity and connection to an audience, and has been my main income source. I now work with a management agency, and have several brand contracts that stem from my TikTok channel. With consistency, I am now partnering with brands on TikTok, Amazon, YouTube, and IG. This job has been so rewarding. I use my brand partnerships to bring my audience inspiration for their everyday makeup looks and fashion drops because these partnerships keep me up to date with the latest drops, and best and/or more efficient way of doing makeup, or styling a fashion piece. My desire is to bring inspiration, knowledge, and value to those who have a like interest.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not always been a smooth road. With anything that we do, there are always challenges we are destined to overcome. One challenge I had early on was to grow in my ability to edit videos and write scripts. What made me better was watching YouTube videos, using free softwares, like CapCut to get started, and using platforms for UGC Creators to not only bring in more income, but also become better at Creating videos. Platforms designed to help UGC Creators connect with brands was a huge win for me. It taught me how to create videos authentically, focus the attention on the product and not me, and so much more.
Of course their are many other hurdles involved in brand contract negotiations, and so much more. But I’ll stop there.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I create content that beautifully blends beauty, fashion, and faith. I specialize in honest product reviews and relatable styling tips, sharing my personal journey as a wife and mom who loves to express herself through makeup and fashion. I’m known for my authentic approach, where I emphasize inner beauty and staying true to one’s values.
What I’m most proud of is building a community where we can inspire and uplift each other while navigating our individual styles. I believe what sets me apart is my focus on authenticity and faith, showing that beauty and fashion can be a reflection of who we are inside. My goal is to empower others to embrace their unique selves while connecting over our shared experiences.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
While we have such great places to tour and eat, that I would not minimize, what I like best about our city is the amazing church community I am a part of! A safe place for my children to grow, people who are in the 4 walls of a church but making an impact in school systems, corporate and regular jobs. These people are inspirational because what you may see on camera is exactly how they are in real life; down to earth, authentic, honoring, honest, and love Jesus. They are the real deal. What I like least about our city is the trash system in North Charleston (haha).
