Meet Gracie Mintz of Spartanburg

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gracie Mintz.

Hi Gracie, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I was born and raised in Spartanburg SC. Growing up I always had a passion to help others and was determined to solve any problem that was handed to me. After taking some time to pick a career path, massage therapy was intriguing because of the variety of clientele it serves.

I graduated from Spartanburg Community College with an associates in Pre-Health Science in 2022, and in the same year re-applied to SCC’s Massage Therapy program and received my MT degree in 2023. Since getting me license, I have been wanting to achieve accreditation in different continuing education courses such as lymphatic drainage, sports massage, and pediatric massage.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s been an uneven road, easier at some points in the road of my career than others. The biggest struggle to combat is navigating my career; how can I be the best that I can be? It’s been a different journey outside of school, and entering my second year as a licensed massage therapist I hope I can continue to strive to be the best that I can be.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a licensed massage therapist in South Carolina serving the Upstate. I specialize in deep tissue massage, and some medical and Swedish massage techniques. I’m most known for not holding back on pressure at times, making sure I hit the right spot to relief pain points. I’m most proud of my determination and work ethic, I believe those two things set me apart from others.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
One of my favorite childhood memories is from the third grade. We had a science project to make observations of popcorn, and my teacher recognized my paper as the example of what she was asking for. I was very detailed in my assignment, and didn’t leave anything out.

I carry out this memory into my adult life to continue to strive to be the best that I can be.
